If you hold valid hired in plant insurance you do not need to take out our Damage Waiver. If you do not have your own policy the Damage Waiver becomes compulsory and is charged at 20 percent of the hire cost. This ensures the equipment is protected against accidental damage or theft while on hire.

The waiver does not cover misuse, overloading, contaminated fuel, vandalism during non-working hours if equipment is not locked away, failure to maintain coolant, lubricants, batteries or tyre pressures, paint overspray, chemical damage, fire caused by hot works or any damage to third party persons or property. It also excludes any loss while the equipment is on unauthorised hire or loan to another party.

You must notify Quotemehire immediately with the date and time of the loss and the full circumstances. In cases of theft, malicious damage or riot you must also contact the police within 24 hours and obtain a crime number. These steps are required to progress any claim under the waiver.
